The release includes a MultiSearch upgrade enabling users to store search criteria, like Watchlists and Portfolios, as described in this month’s MFO commentary. The new feature is particularly helpful when employing various screens with numerous criteria. Now just click “Run” next to your saved search.
On Sunday, 14 February, Valentine’s Day (and the same day I received my first Moderna shot), the Dashboard of Launch Alerts tool debuted. It compiles and tracks funds first appearing in MFO’s “Launch Alert” feature and follows a format similar to the Dashboard of Risk Profiles, as described here.
Hundreds of new funds are launched annually (e.g., 590 in 2020), but most are not worth mentioning. David highlights just a dozen or so each year. As an adviser or individual investor, I suggest checking this new tool often. Just click “Launches” in the navigation bar at top of any page.
Finally, several other improvements launched in MultiSearch this week. Three worth pointing-out:
- Jump Scroll. Enables quick navigation of MultiSearch Results table, which has grown to more than 600 columns, spanning metrics in 28 groups, like Trend and Ferguson. You can now use the left and right arrows in table menu to “jump” to next metric group. Hold to repeat.
- Hover Symbol. This too helps users better navigate the results table. By holding the cursor over any symbol column, the fundname will appear. A symbol column marks the beginning of each metric group, acting as a sort of group demarcation.
- Plus Search. Users have requested the ability to include any funds by certain metrics, like fund manager, in addition to funds meeting a combination of other criteria. Symbol (ticker) searches are performed this way. Now, same is true for fundname, manager, and adviser searches by selecting the “Plus” radio button.
Refinitiv drops month ending February data on Saturday, 6 March. Look for the MFO ratings update later that day or early Sunday.
